If your leg workouts are getting boring, introducing new exercises is the perfect way to shock the body and motivate some new-found energy. There are many leg exercises that you can do to help stimulate the muscles and increase strength. The following two exercises performed back to back in a circuit-style fashion will make for the perfect ending to your leg workout to help stimulate extra size and strength in the thighs.
Stiff-Legged Deadlifts
Stiff-legged deadlifts is a very advanced exercise, but once you can master it, the results will be worth it! To start, stand up straight, feet together. Slowly bend over, making sure to keep your knees absolutely straight. Go as low as you can while keeping the back straight. Once you feel a pull behind the knees, make your way back to the starting position and then repeat. To add resistance, hold a dumbbell in each hand and let your arms hang down as you bend forward.
Alternating Lunges
Alternating lunges is another intermediate to advanced exercise that will target the thighs and get your legs burning. Holding a weight in each hand, take a big step forward with one leg, keeping your head up and back straight. Then, bend both knees, bringing your trailing leg close to the ground, and then push yourself back up to the top and repeat on the other side.
Do about 10 repetitions for each exercise consecutively without rest. After a break of about 60-90 seconds, repeat both exercises again for 3-4 sets total. Adding this deadly circuit at the end of your regular leg workout will surely leave your thighs screaming for mercy.
