What’s up everyone? Welcome back to Mental Sweat Monday, I’m Hannah Huesman.
Today we’re going to talk about the difference between talking to yourself and listening to yourself.
When you talk to yourself. You are in control. When you listen to yourself. You’re completely controlled by whatever is going on inside your head, which is typically negative. It’s can be doubt. It can be fear. It could be complaining.
What you have to do is become aware when listening to yourself and start talking to ourselves in a more productive way. Positivity. Encouragement. Optimism. Affirmations.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s all going to be sunshine and rainbows because it’s not. But you want to hit yourself with the facts and put an optimistic outlook on things. For example, “I know this is going to be a really hard workout but I’ve prepared as best as I can and I have overcome challenges before.”
Remember, it’s about talking to ourselves instead of listening to whatever’s going on up there.
